In the film " Mantènnere, custodire il suono del sacro ," director Diego Pani focuses on the ancient canto a cuncordu and the power of tradition in transmitting one of Sardinia's most iconic polyphonic songs. The feature film will be screened Monday at 5:30 p.m. in the Aula Magna of DISSUF - University of Sassari, at Via Zanfarino 62, Sassari.

The event is organized by the Fiorenzo Serra Laboratory of the Società Umanitaria and will feature director Diego Pani and scholars and experts in the field, Bruno Lombardi and Simone Sassu.

"Mantènnere" explores the profound meaning of the chant, passed down from the historic group of singers of the Confraternity of the Rosary to the young brothers who, having taken up the mantle, have now become the ritual singers of Holy Week in Santu Lussurgiu . This documentary explores the close connection between music, ritual, and community, highlighting the strength of a centuries-old tradition, transformed and mediatized, also through the eyes of researchers and the role of ethnographic documentation.
