Classicism in contemporary photography. The artist from Nuoro Giusy Calia opens tomorrow at 6 pm her solo exhibition "Look at me if I don't look at you" at the Gebaud Art Gallery in Sassari. The curator is Giovanni Manunta Pastorello.

The exhibition, open until January 23 , represents a moment of profound exploration of the aesthetic and conceptual dimension of contemporary photography. «With its marble bodies, anhedonic compositions and landscapes captured “by chance”, Giusy Calia's work conveys a sense of timelessness and formal rigor, similar to the classicism that art has pursued in other times», write Pastorello and Giovanna Pittalis in the presentation.

The photographs on display evoke sculptures that seem crystallized in an eternal moment of secular contemplation, where the absence of eroticism exalts the purity of the subject. It is an adult, secularized art that observes itself and the world with a sharp and mature eye .
