“Libri a tempo” was born from the idea of proposing to Oristano an initiative already successfully tested in other cities .
The initiative was developed in two events: on November 9th in the spaces of the Municipal Library, about 2000 books donated by citizens were collected . Different genres and contents: fiction, essays, children's literature, manuals. On November 24th, the distribution of the collected works was planned with the formula of paying a ticket of 10 euros with which it was possible, in a time of five minutes, to take and take away the favorite books.
The initiative was organized by the Department of Culture , the Sartiglia Documentation Center and the Municipal Library to encourage reading , to give new life to "paper creatures" and to give everyone the opportunity to read. The outcome is very positive.
Through the ticket system, 1700 euros were raised to be allocated to cultural projects for teenagers. Given the success, “Libri a tempo” will be repeated in the coming months.
