Four names that are open wounds in the Italian collective conscience: Giulia Cecchettin, Giulia Tramontano, Sarah Scazzi, and Yara Gambirasio. Broken stories, symbols of gender-based violence that continues to unfold in silence and indifference. It is in this context that "Il tempo muto" (The Silent Time) is born, an original song created with the aim of breaking the silence and shaking consciences, inviting us not to turn away from violence.
The song presents itself as a collective call for responsibility, transforming music into a space for testimony and awareness. As one of its central passages states, the night symbolically becomes "everyone's" against evil, underscoring that no one can consider themselves exempt from this tragedy.
The song is performed by artist Susanna Congiu, originally from Guamaggiore and resident in Senorbì, who has been active in the Trexenta music scene and beyond for over thirty years. "The song was a gift from the songwriters," she explains. "They felt my mature voice could enhance it. I connected with them through an international network dedicated to singing and music, where artists from around the world share the same passion."
The project's strength lies not only in its meaning, but also in its choral nature: Susanna Congiu (vocals, piano, and keyboards) acted as a catalyst, involving important local artists and musicians in this mission in a true team effort, where each collaborator contributed their own spark to give strength to a collective cry for help that does not intend to be reduced to a mere performance.
A creative journey that unites the excellence of Trexenta with an international network born within the music and singing network. The lyrics are by Valentina d'Adamio and Andrea Diego Masala, while the music is by Austrian musician of Sardinian origins Andrea Diego Masala and his band Blutwerk. The instrumental core is entrusted to Fabio Sirigu's guitar, with musical contributions from drummer and percussionist Paolo Pisano and multi-instrumentalist Giuseppe Cocco, who also handled the technical production at LQM Studios. The mastering was done in the same studios with the collaboration of Austrian sound engineer David Müller. Distribution is entrusted to Andrea Diego Masala's Kgbmad Records, which is handling the song's release. Simone Sitzia of Senorbì is the author of an evocative cover designed to encourage reflection on the issue of gender violence.
In a context where the issue of femicide has returned to the center of political debate, also following the recent ill-advised positions expressed by an Italian MEP, "Il tempo muto" chooses the universal language of music to draw attention to the need to remain vigilant in the face of all forms of violence against women.
