Sardinia's nature is on display, narrated through the words of Grazia Deledda and the drawings of painter Lilli Mura. The exhibition "Grazia Deledda, the Gardener" will open on Wednesday at 6:00 PM at the Tavolara Pavilion in Sassari. Organized by the Friends of the Garden of Sardinia Association and with the support of the Municipality of Sassari, it commemorates the centenary of the Nobel Prize in Literature awarded to the writer from Nuoro.

The exhibition offers an original perspective on a key aspect of the great Sardinian writer: her profound connection to nature, gardens, and the island's landscape. The exhibition features botanical drawings by botanical painter Lilli Mura, a member of the Cagliari Garden Club. The reproductions of the works will be accompanied by quotes from the Sardinian writer's stories and novels, revealing her profound connection to nature and her attentive and passionate gaze, a true friend of gardens. The exhibition highlights Grazia Deledda's sensitivity to Sardinian nature, so often evoked in her writings as a symbol of identity, memory, and connection to the land.

The exhibition also aims to be an opportunity to reflect on the cultural value of landscape and the relationship between literature, the environment, and traditions, at a time when sensitivity to nature is becoming increasingly important. The exhibition will be open to the public free of charge until June 30th, Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
