After stops in Oristano and several towns in Northern Sardinia, Girovagando, the International Street Art Festival , returns to its birthplace. From tomorrow until Sunday, national and international companies will invade the streets and squares of Sassari's historic center, as well as the Spazio Tev of Theatre en Vol in the suburban Li Punti neighborhood.
The 28th edition's slogan is "The Revolt of Beauty." "The theme opposes violence and aggression and aims to demonstrate that another approach to life is possible," says Michèle Kramers, artistic director of the Festival. "It aims to create a peaceful and respectful atmosphere of celebration, open to all, regardless of gender, color, origin, or religion, to celebrate life and reflect on the possibility of joyful, respectful, open, and supportive togetherness."
The Shows - The first show to open the Sassari leg on Thursday evening in Piazza d'Italia will be the colorful The Last Catch , where giant fish will slalom between the stilts of the Slovenian company Ana Monro Teater. Kyber Teatro with Onda , in the courtyard of Palazzo Ducale, will offer a suggestive experimental journey of video mapping on epidermal canvas; Piazza d'Italia will also host the fun and thoughtful Il Sogno di un Passero, an ingenious adventure with a steam punk aesthetic by the Spanish group Circ Panic, who on Saturday afternoon at Spazio Tev will present the brilliant and melancholic six-meter-high show Mira T.
Also on the program is the regional premiere of La Luce del Nero, a secular prayer on the world's pain performed by Bergamo's Teatro Tascabile. After three years, the 18-piece international ensemble Antagon Theater Aktion returns with the show Ashes (another regional premiere). Also eagerly awaited are Figli d'Arte Cuticchio, masters of storytelling and puppet theater. Also on the bill are Manoviva , an acrobatic microcosm told by the hands of Girovago and Rondella, while Antipodi is a show by the Dromosofista company. Music lovers won't want to miss the intoxicating music of Medit on Friday night in Piazza Duomo and the energetic, light-hearted melodies of the Nuova Orchestrina Altalena on Saturday morning in the Emiciclo.
Throughout the duration of Girovagando, it will be possible to participate in the street action workshop inspired by the theme The revolt of beauty, led by the Portuguese psychologist and artist Helder Oliveira.
