The Girotonno is back in attendance, after the stop due to the pandemic, with its 18th edition.

The event that hosts chefs from all over the world with meetings and entertainment in the name of quality bluefin tuna that is fished in the trap of the island of San Pietro, with local and international recipes and gastronomic challenges, is scheduled from 2 to 5 June.

Carloforte will once again become the stage for a moment of confrontation and cultural exchange between the Mediterranean regions that still keep alive the culture of tuna and traps. As always, chefs from different countries participate in the international gastronomic competition, the International Tuna Competition, who will prepare recipes based on cooked and raw tuna. The dishes will be judged by a technical jury, made up of journalists, experts and opinion leaders who will be chaired by Paolo Marchi, creator of Identità golose, the first Italian cooking congress, but also a popular jury, made up of visitors to the event that will award a dedicated award.

In the program, there will also be space for live cooking that will enhance all the tuna-based recipes, under the coordination of the Carlofortino chef Luigi Pomata. Conducting all the appointments on stage will be Federico Quaranta, Rai presenter and voice of the radio broadcast Decanter. The Expo village is also back, the exhibition village that offers visitors the opportunity to go shopping, every day until midnight, among the local agri-food specialties and Sardinian handicraft products. At Tuna village, the gastronomic village of the event, specialty tastings every day.
