Sardinians "prisoners" of their own island, due to a "phantom" territorial continuity, and with a bill wanted by the Transport Councilor Antonio Moro "inconsistent and propaganda".

Maria Laura Orrù, regional councilor of Possibile (Avs), points the finger at «a model that is based on the assumption that it is the Region that decides the routes without an upstream technical and economic feasibility study, which demonstrates its profitability and the attractiveness for the carriers and without any guarantee on the advantages that should derive from it for the citizens".

For Orrù, the bill «quantifies an average discount on airport fees that we have estimated to be around 900 euros per flight. It is not at all clear how this reduction in the costs of the boarding tax benefits the passenger: does the foreseen discount serve to increase the profits of the carrier or will the passenger have some clear feedback on the cost of the ticket?», asks the exponent of the opposition.

«It is impossible - he adds - for a carrier to bear the cost of a route in the face of the lack of a clear picture of the real extent of passengers involved, and it cannot be the poor incentive of 6.4% provided by the Region to convince a carrier to operate according to the obligations established by the Proposal of law».

"The resources that are intended to be allocated are insufficient, the continuity project is inconsistent and lacks the substantial upstream studies that the complexity of the issue - he concludes - would require".
