The immortal message of the original work, adapted to our present: this is " Il fuoco era la cura ", a theatrical piece freely inspired by Ray Bradbury's "Fahrenheit 451" , directed by Sara Bonaventura , Claudio Cirri and Daniele Villa , in a new creation by Sotterraneo . The show will be on tour this week on the island , for the current Cedac Sardegna Prose Season : the appointment is already at 8.30pm on Tuesday 17th at the Teatro Massimo in Cagliari , then continuing on Thursday 19th at the same time at the Bochet theatre San Giuseppe in Nuoro , to close on Saturday 21st at the Teatro Comunale in Sassari , once again at 8.30pm .
Bradbury, in his cult novel, imagined a dystopian society in which reading and owning books are completely forbidden, under penalty of immediate imprisonment, setting the work in the 1920s . The creators of "Fire Was the Cure" therefore intend to ask the audience whether the author's warning has been refuted , or remains symbolic of current dangers , by exploring the very concept of dystopia .
A free reinterpretation of the "Fahrenheit" we already know, as devoted to the original as it is chaotic in its divergence, and which sees five performers retrace the story and characters of the novel , creating unexpected subplots, off-road detours and constructions of "lore" about the events that occurred between our present and an anti-knowledge tomorrow. The performers on stage will be Flavia Comi , Davide Fasano , Fabio Mascagni , Radu Murarasu and Cristiana Tramparulo .
With writing by Villa, lighting by Marco Santambrogio , costumes and props by Ettore Lombardi and Eva Sgrò , respectively, the sounds are by Simone Arganini , while Giulio Santolini is responsible for the choreography. And several different realities in the field have assisted the esteemed Sotterraneo in the production, with the participation of Teatro Metastasio (Prato), Piccolo Teatro di Milano and Emilia Romagna Teatro , in addition to the support of Centrale Fies .
