A unique evening for two unmissable shows, combining the legacy of a great Sardinian artist with more recent influences: on Friday the 28th, Cagliari's Teatro Massimo will host the tribute concert "Ferra's Legacy" at 9 pm, followed immediately by the original production "Bent'è Mari" at 10 pm. The latter will also be previewed for children and families at 4:30 pm on Thursday the 27th, in a new event on the program created by Jazzin' Sardegna and Sardegna Concerti with the support of the Ministry of Culture, the Region, and the Fondazione Sardegna.

"Ferra's Legacy" is a passionate tribute to Massimo Ferra, guitarist and composer who passed away in 2019 and was considered a key figure in the Sicilian jazz scene, thanks to his refined versatility in classical, popular, and black music. Officiating the tributes were none other than his brother Bebo—also a renowned international jazz guitarist—and his son Pietro, a rising violinist, joined by distinguished guests such as Francesco Sotgiu (drums and violin), Salvatore Maiore (double bass and cello), and Gabriele Mirabassi (clarinet). A moving Medinsard production, this celebration of Ferra's legacy celebrates his legacy through reinterpretations and new arrangements.

"Bent'è Mari" is also produced by the Sardegna Concerti production center: the show explores ancient melodies and singing customs that have united diverse and distant lands over time, reflecting on forgotten material and cultural routes, yet more crucial today than ever. The dialogue between the "people of the sea" is not only musical, but also linguistic, where Sardinian, Arabic, Tabarchino, and Portuguese blend with the sounds of their roots to rediscover the past while looking to the future. Each of the aforementioned cultures can be considered represented by the "Bent'è Mari" ensemble, featuring islanders Elena Ledda (vocals) and Matteo Leone (vocals, strings, percussion), Tunisian Marzuk Mejri (vocals, darbouka, wind instruments), and Brazilian Roberto Taufic (guitar and vocals).
