There's a thread that connects cinema to struggle, creativity to resistance, personal fragility to collective strength. That thread found its symbol in Orgosolo, where "Profondo Nero" by brothers Roberto and Francesco Pili won the "TZIULAI" award ex aequo in the exposé journalism category at the first edition of the Orgosolo Film Festival – Cinema of Exposé, Struggle, and Resistance (OFF).
The festival, conceived by the Cultural Association Radio Televisione Sarda , brought national and international works to the heart of Barbagia, united by the urgency of recounting society's wounds and the strength of those who never give up.
In this scenario, the Pili documentary found fertile ground: a work that intertwines testimony, urban art, and reflections on mental health.
At the center of the story is Davide Lai, the historic Sardinian writer known as Nero, who through his works transforms pain into color, suffering into a sign. Profondo Nero shows how the creative act can become a therapeutic tool, a space for freedom and redemption, confirming art as a universal language of resistance.
The Off Award recognition comes on the heels of a particularly successful year for the project : in 2025, the film has already won over audiences and critics in Rome, at the Hip Hop Cinefest, at Coliffe, and at the ilcorto.it competition. This journey testifies to the power of a work capable of crossing geographical and generational boundaries, speaking with authenticity and intensity to anyone who knows how to listen.
