The cultural association Amistade will host two events, a tribute to the Sardinian intellectual and "identitarian" author Mimmo Bua. As a singer-songwriter—effectively the first singer-songwriter in Limba—under the pseudonym "Miali Logudoresu," he explored genres and themes: from ballads in Sardinian and Italian, which would make him famous in northern Sardinia, to his later Logudorese translations of lyrics by Italian singer-songwriters he held particularly dear, such as De André and Paolo Conte, to bossa nova and fado.

Amistade, curator of the Oschirese Library, which collects books, magazines, and articles by local authors who, like Mimmo Bua, have distinguished themselves in the regional literary scene (and beyond), has recently expanded the ethno-musical section, in collaboration with the artist Franca Pinna. A journey through memory, but above all, an exemplary project for preserving precious testimonies and texts that, as in the case of the book "Chentu e una cantone de Miali Logudoresu," cannot be lost. The previously unpublished collection will be presented tonight at the Mario Cervo Archives, beginning at 7:00 PM, and subsequently in Oschiri, in Piazza Lelle Sanna, on Sunday, September 28, from 7:30 PM.

"With the Library project, we're attempting to conduct a memorial exercise to highlight the figures of these Oschiri authors and intellectuals, gathering all the contributions that might serve to further this discussion," explains Mario Bua, president of Amistade and author of the preface. "In this case, Mimmo Bua entrusted the song lyrics to the graphic designer Bruno Pittau, one of his closest friends, for layout, but then a publisher couldn't be found. Today, thanks to the initiative of Amistade and the magazine Soliana (founded by Mimmo), which oversaw the collection of lyrics, music, and publication, the book has been published. By showcasing his intangible legacy, with these proposals, we hope to bring this heritage back to the hearts of the people."

Eclectic, impetuous, and a dreamer, the book launch will be an opportunity to dedicate a literary salon to the intellectual who left a legacy summed up in the words of anthropologist Placido Cherchi, a friend and fellow citizen, dedicated to him a few months after his passing in 2009: "Mimmo's most distinctive traits cannot be overlooked. I mean his nature as an irreducible dreamer and the distinctly utopian quality of his dreams. In an era in which dreams are systematically being replaced by the banality of the virtual, this ability to dream while lucidly believing in the achievability of one's transcendent dreams was a rare and precious thing."

At the Mario Cervo Archive, the evening will be introduced by Domenico Campesi, with musical contributions from Antonello Mulargia and Franca Pinna, and literary contributions from Fabrizio Derosas, Graziella Elia, and Roberto Carta. The event will be hosted by Tiziana Sanna, president of the G. Sanna Foundation.

Born in Oschiri in 1942, teacher of Italian and historical-social sciences, many publications including “Chimbe upanishad in sardu logudoresu” (1999, S'Alvure), “Contos torrados dae attesu” (1999, S'Alvure), “Gente di Ischiria” (1985, Castello), “Il meglio di Salvatore Cambosu” (1984, Edizioni della Torre), “Lo specchio e la caverna” (S'Alvure 1999); he wrote for the publication “I sardi”, was editor of the magazine “Sesuya” and founder of “Soliana”, a magazine of arts, cinema, poetry, philosophy and literature. The depth of the lyrics masked by the lightness of the form: "Behind the storyteller Miali Logudoresu was a complex and multifaceted personality, with a long and tormented existential journey that had led him to the philosophy of the Vedas and the ecstasy of the lightness of being," writes Bruno Pittau, in a critical reflection on the book. "Therefore, he could afford to write a light book. A book of songs."
