Friday 3 January , at 6.45 pm , appointment in Gonnosnò with the screening of “Oltre il Mare” , the documentary that aims to retrace the history of Sardinian agro-pastoral emigration to central Italy.
The screening of the work of director Irio Pusceddu, and conceived by Elio Turis, Daniele Gabrielli and Dina Meloni, will also be the occasion to inaugurate the new municipal multimedia room. A new structure available to the community.
"Thanks to a 195 thousand euro funding - comments the mayor Ignazio Peis - received from Gal Marmilla, we have arranged the external square, giving decor and enhancement to the access space to the hall, and in the latter, we have provided the furnishings and multimedia systems, thus creating a cutting-edge place, where we can promote culture and debate. Fundamental elements for the survival of a territory that fights every day to combat depopulation".
The documentary, produced by the Circolo Peppino Mereu of Siena, enjoys the patronage of the Circoli of Florence, La Plata (Argentina), Nichelino, Rome, Ciampino, Tokyo (Japan), Livorno, Perugia and the collaboration of the Circoli of the Centro Sud Circoscrizione of FASI, Federation of Sardinian Associations in Italy, in addition to being funded by the Department of Labor of the Sardinia Region. The work explores the stories of Sardinian farmers and shepherds who left the island to seek new opportunities in regions such as Tuscany, Umbria, Lazio and Abruzzo. Through sincere and passionate testimonies, the director Irio Pusceddu tells how these people managed to overcome the initial difficulties, keeping alive the traditions and customs of their homeland.
