An intense and poetic production from Rome that explores the sense of balance through movement: on Saturday at 8:30 pm, the Teatro Civico in Sassari hosts Mandala Dance Company with "Balancier." The piece is part of the "Primavera a Teatro – 15th edition" program.
The work, created by choreographer and director Paola Sorressa, explores the concept of balance as a dynamic process rather than a final condition. In a world where humans perpetually aspire to ultimate stability, the show suggests that true essence lies in the infinite oscillation between dualisms. Immersed in energetic suspensions and fluid movements, the dancers inhabit the contrast between mind and body, strength and lightness, movement and stillness. "Balancier" is more than a performance; it is a journey of discovery that invites the audience to rediscover balance in its most profound expressions.
On the electronic soundscapes of Alva Noto and Aleksi Perälä , the three performers— Alessia Stocchi, Davide Galuppi, and Gabriele Crosta —create a space for reflection on instability and harmony, supported by the lighting design of Paola Sorressa and Luca Bevilacqua and the sets of Fiorenzo Zaffina . The production, supported by the MIC (Ministry of Culture) , arrives on the stage of the Palazzo di Città after the success achieved at prestigious artistic residencies in Lazio.
