The courage of two parents, searching for the truth hidden by the regime: this is " Tutto il male del mondo ", a documentary about the tragic story of Giulio Regeni and the subsequent legal battle against those responsible, waged by his family. Directed by Simone Manetti , the feature film distributed by Fandango also arrives in the capital at the tireless Greenwich at Via Sassari 65/67 , in two event screenings scheduled today at 6:30 PM and tomorrow at 8:30 PM .

Over the course of its 105 minutes , the director retraces the Italian researcher's last days in Cairo , when he was brutally kidnapped, tortured, and killed at the hands of Egyptian security services. This film, for the first time ever, reconstructs the judicial truth, giving voice to Giulio's parents : Claudio Regeni and Paola Deffendi , assisted from the beginning by the hardworking Alessandra Ballerini . A father and mother who fearlessly stood up and challenged General Al-Sisi's dictatorship , and a lawyer who, after eight long years, managed to identify the four Egyptian agents and bring them to trial, in a process that should conclude this year.

By shedding light on the regime's misdirection and its despotic use of "reasons of state," "All the Evil in the World" seeks to bring a small but necessary measure of justice to Giulio's senseless death. Born in Trieste in 1988 to a cosmopolitan and well-traveled family, Giulio moved to Cairo in 2015, after studying at Cambridge, to pursue a doctorate on the situation of trade unions in Egypt, driven in part by his lifelong humanitarian interests. It was precisely this academic work that brought him under the dictatorship's scrutiny and to his tragic end , as happened to so many other Egyptian citizens before him.
