The National Publishing Forum “All the Books in the World” returns to Alghero, scheduled for September 26 and 27 between the Hotel Catalunya and the Alghero Foundation.

The event brings together representatives of ADEI, the Italian Association of Independent Publishers, and of the territorial associations of the sector. The meeting will be an opportunity for a comparison and a direct exchange between the regional bodies present throughout Italy that have long since decided to start a common path. In particular, the national and regional directives adopted in support of the activities of publishing houses, participation in fairs and publishing events of national and international importance will be discussed. The aim of the reflection is to promote greater territorial cohesion among publishers and develop an interregional regulatory framework that can improve the future desirable interventions of the Government and the Regions on publishing policies.

The meeting – organized by ADEI and AES, Association of Sardinian Publishers as part of the Festival “Mediterranea. Cultures. Scambi. Passaggi” – will be divided into two parts.

On Thursday 26 September from 5:30 pm at the Hotel Catalunya there will be a round table discussion entitled “Editorial policies in Italy at the national and regional level: sector regulations, lines of intervention and actions”. Participants will include the president of ADEI Andrea Palombi, the president of AES Simonetta Castia, the ADEI councilor for regional and territorial policies Alberto D'Angelo, the president of Veneto Publishers Chiara Finesso, the councilor of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Publishers Association Martina Kafol, the president of Edi.Marca-Marche Publishers Association Mauro Garbuglia, the president of the Apulian Publishers Association Livio Muci and the president of the Sicilian Publishers Association Salvatore Granata.

On the morning of Friday 27 September , from 9:30, the conference room of the Alghero Foundation will host the operational workshop in which the representatives will draw the conclusions of the round table, formulating the proposals of the publishers towards the institutions to plan the actions to be undertaken for the future of the sector.

The Festival “Mediterranea. Cultures. Exchanges. Passages”, which includes the Forum, also continues with its activities to promote reading. On Wednesday 25 September at 6:30 pm, the Cyrano bookshop in via Vittorio Emanuele II 11 in Alghero will host the presentation of the book Verso Caprera. Sulle tracce di Garibaldi by Gordon Pincott (Paolo Sorba publisher). The meeting with the author will be attended by Gian Luca Moro, coordinator of the Garibaldini Museums, and Massimiliano Fois, director of MASE. The event is in collaboration with the Garibaldini Museums and the International Institute of Studies “Giuseppe Garibaldi”.

The following week, the Festival will host the author Sante Bandirali who, on October 1st, will present his first novel, Papiro , published by Marcos y Marcos last May, at the Koiné bookshop in Sassari in via Roma 137, a partner of the initiative, and on October 2nd, at the Cyrano partner bookshop in Alghero. In Sassari, the author will be in conversation with Lorena Piras, and in Alghero with Raffaele Sari. Furthermore, on the morning of October 2nd at 11am, at the Teatro Astra in Sassari, Bandirali will repeat the reading-show A shining talent - Homage to Siobhan Dowd (uovonero editions), in collaboration with the theatre company La botte e il cilindri. The event is aimed at students aged 12 and up. Sante Bandirali, translator and author, won, among others, the Premio Strega Ragazze e Ragazzi 2020 for the translation of the novel Una per i Murphy by Lynda Mullaly Hunt.
