This marks a significant new milestone in the artistic journey of Alghero-born singer-songwriter Yasmin Bradi . The single "Aigua Mare " (Mother Water) will be released on Sunday, March 22nd. It's the first installment of her eponymous EP "Aiguamare," a work that promises to be deeply rooted in her identity, a synthesis of thirty years of career, vocal exploration, and a connection to her homeland.
The artist creates music, lyrics, and arrangements, creating an intimate and symbolic production. The song represents a return to origins and an artistic expansion: Sardinia, and Alghero in particular, becomes a sonic and spiritual space .
The project is part of her production, like Amb la llum de una flor (2020), an album in Catalan that contributed to the spread of the Algherese language and earned her important awards: she won the Andrea Parodi Critics' Award in 2010 and, in the same year, the P. Piras Award .
Bradi's artistic career has also expanded beyond Italy's borders, with performances in Catalonia, Ireland, and Brazil, cementing her international reach. Recorded in Bachisio Ulgheri's recording studio, as part of the new Sardea Project, Yasmin Bradi's entire background flows into the new EP.
From his solid academic background to the broadening of his musical language through experiences in cities like Bologna, London, and Barcelona, he forged collaborations in jazz and world music , developing his own unique research. His recordings reflect this cultural multiethnicity: Catalan, Italian, Logudorese Sardinian, and Spanish intertwine in a sonic mosaic that reflects the linguistic complexity of Sardinia.
The journey culminates in a radical composition: a track dedicated to the "naked voice," devoid of instruments and words. Here, the voice becomes a pure, almost sacred experience, a means of listening and transformation. Sardea Project , where the new work is featured, is an artistic and cultural hub that unites music, spirituality, and education.
The name itself recalls Sardinia and its symbolic feminine dimension : the cult of water, the figure of the mother goddess, the ancestral bond with nature, restoring centrality to the voice as a primordial instrument, capable of crossing languages, cultures and internal boundaries.
Among the project's key elements is the shamanic drum, discovered by Bradi in Barcelona in 2016, which accompanies the voice in a ritual and meditative dimension. A broad program that includes home concerts, workshops, educational sessions, and artistic collaborations; among the most significant activities is the Singing Circle , a workshop dedicated to discovering one's voice as a tool for connection, improvisation, and emotional expression.
