The countdown to the vote on March 22 and 23 is underway, when Italians will be asked to confirm or reject the justice reform proposed by the government led by Giorgia Meloni, which has already been approved by Parliament.

Ten days before the vote, Fratelli d'Italia , the Prime Minister's party, organized “A reform that does justice,” an event – hosted at the Parenti Theater in Milan – to promote and illustrate the reasons for the Yes vote.

The list of speakers and participants was long: magistrates, jurists, lawyers, journalists, intellectuals, parliamentarians, and ministers. The day concluded with remarks by Justice Minister Carlo Nordio and Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni herself.

"Succeeding in reforming the justice system is a momentous achievement ," Meloni said during her speech, "to ensure a fairer trial with a more impartial judge." "No one," the prime minister added, "is planning to get rid of the judiciary, but rather to fix what isn't working for the magistrates , but above all for the citizens to whom we promised a better nation."

"There are those who say 'Vote no against Meloni,'" the prime minister also stated, "but there's no chance I'll resign under any circumstances. I want to make it to the end of the legislature. I want to be judged on my overall work . In a year, when the general election comes, you'll still have the option of sending the government home."

Finally, an appeal to voters: "There are times when a nation must look itself in the mirror and decide whether to stay as it is or try to become better: don't stand by and watch, and don't turn away . We can turn a new page for our nation and demonstrate that, when Italians decide to write their own future, there is nothing that can stop them," the Prime Minister concluded.

The conference was also attended by Sardinian parliamentarians from Fdi, Senator Alessandra Zedda and MP Francesco Mura .

THE INTERVIEWS:

Senator Antonella Zedda: "A reform that proposes a more equitable justice system."

The Honorable Stefano Maullu: "We need a judiciary free from constraints."
