Sardinia is also preparing for the election of the new President of the Republic. In addition to the parliamentarians in joint session, in fact, three delegates from each Region are called to elect the new tenant of the Colle (only Valle d'Aosta brings one).

Sergio Mattarella's seven-year term expires on February 3, as early as January 22, according to some observers, Parliament could be convened in joint session.

The Sardinian Regional Council is called to choose its three delegates, Michele Pais could convene the assembly between 10 and 14.

The practice, now consolidated, is that the mandate is given to represent the Region to the president in office, the Prime Minister and a representative of the minorities, therefore center-left or 5 Star Movement.

So Christian Solinas and Michele Pais should go to Rome to elect Mattarella's successor. The favorite for the opposition seems to be the group leader Pd Gianfranco Ganau, former president of the regional council and already a great elector for Sergio Mattarella.
