A winery, that of Quartu, based in Maracalagonis, which conquers new spaces by focusing everything on the quality of its wines.

After the Vermentino di Sardegna "Arenas oro", the Cannonau reserve, the dry-worked nasco, to be drunk especially with important meals preferably fish-based and the Syrah born from the homonymous grapes, the Cantina di Quartu was awarded at the international wine competition “Città del vino 2022” , in Turin, obtaining the gold medal with “Pascas 2021”.

A blast from the past as this wine, a passito moscato, had not been produced for almost twenty years . A sweet wine of 13 degrees obtained from Muscat grapes that are dried on the plant, to be cut when it reaches 25/26 of sugar.

"We have packaged 10 thousand bottles - says the oenologist Lucien Angey -. The Turin gold medal certifies its qualities: a wine destined to conquer the market . Like the Vida sparkling wine which had a great success in Turin and which is it was obtained from cannonau and monica with the packaging of 7 thousand bottles. A very important milestone for the winery and the wine sector in our area ".

An enopoly that grows after the great crisis of the past which also led to the closure of the enopoly, hosted in Maracalagonis. In the last harvest almost 7 thousand quintals of white and red grapes were conferred with the wine that continues to conquer increasingly interesting markets.

"The winery - says the president Giuseppe Farci - needed to make this leap to conquer increasingly interesting markets . In short, those that give prestige to the winery. It started with the four new wines of the 'Tenute Sant'Elena' line added to the traditional ones: nasco dolce, Monica, Cannonau, Vermentino and Nuragus, which have always been equally appreciated. To these wines have now been added the spumante 'Vida' and 'Pascas', much appreciated at the international competition in Turin. - concludes the president Farci - is that this is only the beginning of the relaunch of viticulture on Quartu and its surroundings, Settimo, Maracalagonis, Sinnai, Selargius in particular ".

In the best of times, the winery also amassed 200 thousand quintals of grapes before the great crisis of the seventies and eighties which even led to the sale of the old cellar in via Marconi in Quartu: in those years the detached seat of Maracalagonis was built where the reality continues to live after closing and resuming.
