The appointment with the "Open Monuments" is renewed today and tomorrow in Quartu: 22 of them can be visited. From the Antico Macello , built in 1901 as a slaughterhouse and now the Central Library, which on this occasion reopens its doors to users after the redevelopment with PNRR funding, to the Ex Convento dei Cappuccini , with its suggestive quadriporticoed cloister.
From the Sa Dom'è Farra House Museum , the first ethnographic institution in Sardinia, to the Basilica of Sant'Elena and many other historic churches, including those of Orthodox spirituality. And then the Ex Montegranatico , home to the “Luigi Rachel” Civic School of Music, the Dessì Dedoni Chapel and Nursery , the Steria Nursery and the Michelangelo Pira Space , recently reopened.
There will also be space for contemporary art, with the Social Gallery directed by the director and photographer Giovanni Coda, and urban art with the murals of Manu Invisible , Retro and Viola Vistosu Villani in the large roundabout of Margine Rosso. You can also take a 'leap in time' with the Nuraghe Diana , a thousand-year-old construction that dominates the Golfo degli Angeli, and the Falsa Chiesetta , a small fort disguised as a religious building during the Second World War, but also honor those fallen in battle in the monument in Piazza Luigi Olla . There will also be space for the beauty of the landscape with the Molentargius-Saline Regional Natural Park and for food and wine excellence with the Cantina di Casa Fois .
A walk among the Forts is also planned present between the Pitz'e Serra area and the artificial lake of Simbirizzi and a bike ride in the regional environmental oasis.
There will also be many collateral events scheduled in the same cultural venues open, with relative guidance, for the occasion. Throughout the weekend the old slaughterhouse will be celebrating, given the simultaneous inauguration of the post-works PNRR library: lots of music is planned, but also games and entertainment for children and a round table on the theme of inclusion.
Initiatives linked to tradition are planned both at Sa Dom'e Farra and in the little church of Sant'Efisio, while in the adjacent Ex Montegranatico on Saturday evening there are concerts by the Scuola Civica di Musica “L. Rachel”.
On Sunday at the Social Gallery visitors will have the opportunity to pay homage to the art of Maestro Primo Pantoli, with the exhibition curated by Roberta Vanali, while at the Spazio Michelangelo Pira several activities are scheduled, with the drawing workshop on anatomy, composition and comics, a mini workshop on portraits and several exhibitions and live drawing.
Also: music at the Ex Convento, with the international classical guitar festival Alirio Diaz Guitar Festival and the instrumental concert by the music classes of the Istituto Comprensivo 1-2 “Porcu-Satta”. And then the meeting with the artist Retro, author of the mural dedicated to the Molentargius Park at Margine Rosso, the exhibition of war relics from the Second World War in the Falsa Chiesetta and an exhibition of static naval models in Piazza Olla. There will be tastings of wines in the Cantina Fois and other typical products in the courtyard of the Asilo Steria.
