"Rinascita Quartu reaffirms its commitment to the city's future." Mayor Graziano Milia made the announcement on the sidelines of the movement's citizens' meeting—held today at its headquarters on Via Roma—with supporters, administrators, and activists.

After the December demonstration—which saw over 400 participants confirm their support for leader Graziano Milia—the civic movement met to define the content, activities, and plans for the coming months. The slogan launched just over two months ago was "Looking the Future in the Eye," which, it says, encapsulates how the citizens who founded Rinascita intend to address the reality of Sardinia's third-largest city, which will go to the polls next spring.

"Over the years, a group of people has grown, demonstrating that a calm tone doesn't preclude strong will," Graziano Milia stated, "and that they aren't afraid to take risks to uphold the best interests of the Quartu community, and especially those who live in this community through their daily work and respect for others."

A meeting-debate concluded with Rinascita's mayoral candidate. "For us, looking into the future means being aware of the problems, old and new, we must address, but also of the results we have achieved thanks to the trust of the citizens of Quartu Sant'Elena. We feel a responsibility for this every day and intend to honor it in the coming years with strength and commitment, along with those we will involve in the participatory process to strengthen our efforts with new ideas and projects," concluded Graziano Milia.
