Sardinia among the top regions for the quality of life of the elderly , with Cagliari at the top. That of the capital is the province at the top of this ranking drawn up by the Sole 24 Ore: those of Nuoro, Sassari and Oristano follow, all in the top 12 positions and an improvement compared to the previous survey.

Among the 12 indicators taken into consideration, the data relating to home care is very positive, with the highest per capita expenditure for the over 65s , with Oristano in the lead and Nuoro in third place. The other indicators also performed well, from the transport of the elderly and disabled to the limited consumption of drugs for chronic diseases. Cagliari is also the province with the highest life expectancy .

A fact that “makes us proud because it testifies to Sardinia's attention to the elderly. The Region has for some time been focusing on services with significant investments and a commitment that is not limited to health care only ”, comments President Christian Solinas .

“The findings in the survey - affirms the commissioner Nieddu - returns the sign of the work done so far, with important investments to enhance services for the elderly”.

For children, the province of Aosta is at the top, while Piacenza is for young people. South Sardinia is doing very badly for the quality of life of young people , ranking second to last in front of the province of Barletta alone.
