Alex Shpendi, father of Albanian striker Christian, apologizes. Not to Filippo Rinaldi, the Olbia goalkeeper who attacked yesterday at the end of the Serie C match between the Sardinians and Cesena, but to Cesena itself.

An official complaint was filed for the episode, and Shpendi, intercepted by reporters from the Emilia Romagna Tgr Rai as he was leaving the Cesena police station where he was questioned, said: «I apologize for this ugly gesture, to all the people, the Cesena club, all those who work in Cesena, I know them, they are great people, I disappointed them."

“I apologize a hundred thousand times, as a father I went out of my mind,” he concluded.

Mr Shpendi risks the Daspo, and Cesena a heavy fine and disqualification from the pitch for at least one match. Today the press releases arrived from both clubs - Olbia and Cesena - condemning the violence.
