It is no coincidence that the only ones elected to the Regional Council are precisely the representatives who more than anyone opposed the line dictated by Christian Solinas with the blind obedience of Antonio Moro." Thus begins the reply of Gianni Chessa, councilor leaving the Sardinian group in the Regional Council, to the secretary of the Psd'Az Christian Solinas who today, referring to the former councilor for Tourism and the other dissident Piero Maieli, spoke of a party that it is reborn purified of some waste.

«Today the Psd'Az - explains Chessa - is in the hands of a gang that lives without having any perception of reality, which has no connection with a society that demands answers and which demands to be listened to. A gang that sold out Sardinia's autonomy to the Northern League and Salvini logic." Furthermore, «the responsibility for this failure, which led the Psd'Az to not have its own representation in the legislative assembly of Sardinia, lies mainly with the party secretary Christian Solinas».

Chessa says that “the former governor calls me a baronet. Behind this definition lies the snobbish and classist contempt of a man who has long since stopped talking to people. I am clearly not an English lord, I come from a working-class neighborhood of Cagliari and in that neighborhood I remained working in social work and sport: in all these years of political activity, I have never stopped helping those who were most in need. I am used to seeing the poverty and suffering of people with my own eyes, to seeing first-hand the personal and family tragedies of thousands of people. They are people who, when they meet me, greet me and stop to talk to me because in me they have found not a simple politician but an interlocutor who tries, in an honest and clean way, to give a concrete response to their needs."

«I am a man of the people and I am not ashamed of my origins. And the voters understood it. Moreover, it is no coincidence that I was the centre-right exponent who received the most votes in the last regional elections." Finally: «Politics is done among people and not in the rooms of regulations artfully written to procrastinate the status quo. Time will be the master as it has always been in the history of each of us. My story has always been clear. That's why I was chosen by the voters. This is why I am leaving a party governed by a small group of leaders who believe they are elite but are only the faded photograph of their own political failure."
