«For over 5 months, the President of the Region has omitted the appointment of the director of the Regional Programming Centre, the structure that prepares and coordinates the cohesion policy plans and unitary programming. A shameful delay that has literally paralyzed the offices of the Region identified as the Management Authority of the European ERDF fund and responsible for the use on the island of 1.5 billion of investments destined for Municipalities and companies».

These are the declarations of the group of Progressives in the Regional Council on the affair of the failure to appoint the director of the CRP, the general management incardinated in the Department of Programming of the Region.

The structure has been without a director since last January when Massimo Temussi was appointed consultant to the Minister of Labor and since then it has not been possible to implement the ERDF 2021-2027 regional program, despite the Region's proposal having been formally approved by the European Commission in October 2022.

«Immediately after all, it stalled because, without the appointment of the Director of the CRP and without the indication of his replacement, it is not even possible to set up the Surveillance Committee of the ERDF 2021-2027, the body that has the task of supervising the 'implementation of the regional program and to identify the criteria for selecting the projects to be financed", continue the opposition exponents. "What President Solinas accomplished - they add - was an exceptional and inexplicable act of self-sabotage which is depriving the island of precious resources and which will not go unnoticed: the Region of Sardinia will soon be called to answer for these unacceptable delays because the timing of implementation of European programs cannot take into account the fact that here in our Region it is not possible to even make an appointment in six months".

«Precisely on these aspects - continue the Progressives - we are witnessing an unacceptable little theater: the Regional Council has already approved in April the name of the new director of the CRP, for whose formalization, however, the last step is missing: the Decree of the President of the Region, to ratify the appointment. Among the causes of these delays there would also be the impossibility for the regional administration to sign new employment contracts due to the lack of approval by the regional council of the 2022 Report, the expiry of which was scheduled for April 30 ".

"It is shameful - the conclusion - that while lies are told about mega investment plans that the Region would be able to implement in 24 months, the President is not able to put his signature on a decree to ratify a decision taken by his own Giunta . If the problem lies in the non-approval of the 2022 financial statement, act with facts and with less talk, because it is not acceptable that the price of its lies is paid by Sardinia which risks losing hundreds of millions of euros in public investments. We will deposit specific questions in the next few hours both in the Regional Council and in the Chamber of Deputies to clarify the reasons for this omission".
