A continuous rise in prices that brings many Sassari families to their knees. This is certified by the survey carried out by the Municipal Statistics Office on behalf of Istat. Compared to February 2021, the biggest surge was in energy goods and services: + 39% for electricity, heating fuel and gas. An increase that has increased by almost a third the expenses for housing and by a tenth those for transport.

Attention, the war in Ukraine has nothing to do with the increases, given that the surveys are closed on the 20th of each month and the Russian invasion started on February 24th.

The rise in the prices of food and non-alcoholic drinks also continues: + 1.3% compared to January, + 6.5% in one year.

These increases affect mainly low-middle-income families, who had already tightened their belts during the pandemic, and certainly cannot save any more.

On the other hand, the costs of education, recreation, entertainment and culture, as well as communications (-1.2%), dropped slightly in one year.
