“Pratzas, itineraries of traditional arts in the city” is back, the event, now in its second edition, which showcases the main musical and poetic arts of the Sardinian tradition, popular dance and finally ancient musical instruments. The event, divided into three evenings - from 4 to 6 October - which will be hosted starting at 8 pm in the splendid courtyard of the Lazzaretto in Cagliari, is organized by the Amici della Musica association of Cagliari in collaboration with Campos, the coordination of the musical and poetic arts of Sardinia, and is part of the initiatives of “Cagliari dal vivo 2024”, created with the contribution of the Municipality and with the support of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage.
The first evening will be dedicated to the tenor singing and dancing, the second will be dedicated to poetry, singing and dancing, and will close again with singing and dancing . The shows will be introduced by the ethnomusicologist Roberto Milleddu, who will accompany the audience on a journey to discover the ancient traditions of Sardinia.
One of the aims of the festival is certainly to reclaim the cultural and musical traditions of the Island, giving prestige to the immeasurable intangible heritage and at the same time strengthening the sense of belonging to the community. The festival also wants to guarantee support to young professionals: in this sense, the collaboration agreement with the Campos coordination was crucial, the most important association that brings together artists who work in Sardinia in the musical and poetic arts of oral tradition and protects these forms of expression typical of our island. This will allow the best performers and experts of traditional music of the territory to be brought together on stage, artists who have performed not only in traditional ritual and festive contexts, and in the main folklore festivals of the island, but also boast important presences in international festivals.
The evening of Thursday 4 October “Cantu a tenore e ballu” will feature the tenor Nulese from Nule, Su Concordu Gaovese from Gavoi, the accordion of Simone Muggianu, dancers from Monastir and Sestu. Friday 5 October “Poetry, cantus e ballu” with Massimiliano Serreli, Antonello Serra, Antonello Milia, Bruno Melis (poetas a mutetus), the guitar of Luca Tiddia, the accordion of Alessandro Oppo, Cuncordu Santu Nigola from Nughedu San Nicolò and dancers from Monastir.
