A three-year plan, built through discussions with local authorities, the world of volunteering and social realities in the area . The Regional Council has thus approved today the 2024-2026 Programming Act for the fight against poverty, which defines interventions, resources and objectives to strengthen the network of social services in Sardinia and protect the most vulnerable citizens.
"We have chosen to strengthen national standards with a program calibrated to the social and economic peculiarities of Sardinia," explained the regional councilor for Health and Social Policies, Armando Bartolazzi. "Our Region has decided to allocate over 10 million additional euros to make the fight against extreme poverty more effective and widespread."
The new Plan includes several measures: strengthening of professional social services, multidisciplinary teams, greater coordination between the public and private social sectors and a strong push towards communicating active measures for those living in difficult conditions.
A central role will be played by the Ambiti Plus , which will be called upon to implement – in coordination with the Municipalities – services such as integrated home care and interventions for the homeless. "It is work done in the field, with bilateral meetings with the territories to understand the real needs of each area", Bartolazzi explained.
The approved document is the result of a process of broad consultation. The Permanent Regional Table for the Fight against Poverty – which expressed a favorable opinion on June 20 – was also attended by Anci Sardinia, representatives of local authorities, Caritas, Banco Alimentare, INPS, the Order of Social Workers, the representative of the Pnrr and the World Bank.
"A broad and shared program, which has brought together different experiences and skills, is our strong point", the councilor underlined.
The document must now be sent to the Ministry of Labor and Social Policies by July 4. This is a fundamental act to access the national funds of the "services" portion of the Poverty Fund, which also integrate the resources of the National Inclusion Plan and the PNRR.
