Bitter Christmas for 12 Sardinian workers, who will remain at home from 2024 .

Sardagru , a company linked by a contract to Portovesme srl, has announced the dismissal of 12 dockworkers after Portovesme's decision not to renew the contract .

The provincial secretary of Fit Cisl Simone Atzori made this known, speaking of " yet another slap in the face to the industrial sector of Sulcis Iglesiente, already in deep crisis ".

«The management of Sardagru – states the trade unionist – have communicated that the order will not be renewed by Portovesme and that therefore at the end of the year the contract with them will expire without any possibility of renewal. This implies that the workers' contracts will also not have a continuation ."

«Once again – Atzori notes bitterly – it will be the workers who pay for management crises or entrepreneurial choices aimed only at profit . What kind of Christmas can these families spend?”.

The trade unionist leaves a glimmer of hope lit and postpones everything until next December 28th, when the company's board of directors will meet to make definitive decisions: « We hope for a rethink or, in any case, guarantees on the hiring of the twelve workers by the company that will take over the contract ".
