The Aragon Sports Academy takes center stage by winning the first national title of its young Olympic boxing career . In Chianciano Terme, from May 29th to 31st, athlete Sara Roggio won the gold medal at the Italian Under-19 Women's Championships in the 51 kg category , becoming Italian Champion and bringing a women's title for the first time to a city like Porto Torres, known nationally for its boxing tradition.
"An extraordinary, well-deserved, and in some ways surprising result: Sara arrived at this event with just 10 months of boxing training and only 3 matches. Despite her limited experience, the athlete was able to assert herself with authority and determination, overcoming opponents who were far more experienced, titled, and with a significantly superior competitive resume. This victory is the fruit of Sara's talent, dedication, and sacrifice , but also of the work of a team that believed in this dream from day one." A special mention goes to the technical director of the Aragon Sports Academy, Pierluigi Zara, who was the first to believe in the athlete's qualities and in the possibility of achieving such a prestigious result, to coach Pietro Satta, and to Marco Roggio, Sara's father, for having accompanied and supported the athlete throughout the championship."
This gold medal represents not only an individual victory, but also a historic milestone for the Aragon Sports Academy, now in its third year of operation and present in the local community through initiatives that have encompassed more than just sports. In recent years, it has joined the Community Educational Pact promoted by the Social Services of the Municipality of Porto Torres, participating in two editions of EduFest and developing initiatives aimed at the well-being, inclusion, and development of young people. Among these are the "Dreams on the Track" project, a program dedicated to well-being, inclusion, and relationships, and the "Beyond the Ropes" workshop, created as part of the "Inclusive Networks – For a Community School" project, aimed at middle school students in Porto Torres.
