A technical visit to the necropolis of Su Crocifissu Mannu, the complex of domus de janas dug into a limestone bank, kept just outside the town of Porto Torres, a precious heritage chosen by the Municipality of Porto Torres to enter the tentative list, the list of candidates for UNESCO recognition.

The contacts for the Identity and Memory Study Center (CeSim), who carry out a project of recognition of Sardinian prehistory, with the splendid domus del janas as a world heritage site, made an inspection of the site with the aim of sharing the potential territories that host various cultural assets. They evaluated the elements of tourist and cultural attraction and the development projects in progress.

The chosen monument is that of the necropolis that stands at the entrance to the city of Porto Torres, 22 tombs built starting from the recent Neolithic (3200-2800 BC) and constantly used up to the Early Bronze Age, around the 16th century BC. rooms with entrance in the shape of a cockpit or corridor. The Municipality of Porto Torres has joined the network of Municipalities that have signed the memorandum of understanding for the enhancement of the Unesco recognition of the domus de janas as a World Heritage Site.
