The Antiquarium Turritano National Archaeological Museum and the adjacent Turris Libissonis archaeological site have reached a record-breaking milestone, with visitor numbers reaching 10,313 in 2025. In one of the most prestigious cultural venues in the city of Porto Torres and the island, beauty, passion for history, and the identity of a region prevail.

Since 2013, the museum has recorded an all-time record number of visitors, surpassing a significant threshold at a time when renovations to the museum were underway. Many of the free admissions are related to educational activities organized with schools, promotion events, and conferences, cultural and study initiatives promoted by the museum and archaeological director, Stefano Giuliani. These featured scholars and experts presenting new archaeological discoveries compared with other Italian and international venues. These high-profile cultural events, concerts, and musical initiatives attracted a generous attendance. This achievement was the result of the director's team's meticulous and constant work, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere and orderly environment. Visitors from Spain, Germany, France, and the UK also flocked to discover the ancient ruins of Re Barbaro, among Roman statues and mosaics with their original features. The Antiquarium museum has been temporarily closed since December 15th to allow for the new layout, which will continue for a few more months until the necessary work to make the spaces more welcoming is completed.
