An extraordinary collection of costumes, traditional Sardinian clothes from different centers on the island. The third edition of the "Siendi di Sasdhigna" exhibition presents itself in Porto Torres with important news. The exhibition organized at the Palazzo del Marchese by the Etnos cultural association with the patronage of the Municipality of Turrita offers not only all the traditional clothes of Porto Torres but also the costumes of Florinas, Ittiri, Ossi, Luras, Bonnanaro, Sassari, Desulo, Aidomaggiore, Bultei, Bono, Bonorva, Oschiri, Valledoria and Mores.

The clothes, of great value and value, were made available by folk groups and private collectors. Accompanied by detailed captions, they will be displayed together with objects and utensils from the island tradition. The inauguration is scheduled for Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd December from 11.30am to 8pm, while on Saturday the initiative will be enriched by a conference-debate entitled "Recovery and reconstruction of the treasures of the Sardinian tradition", scheduled from 6pm, focused on the methodologies of reconstruction of traditional Sardinian clothing. Speakers will be Maria Gabriela Ruggiu, president of the Etnos association, Gianluca Loi and Giuseppe Piras, epigrapher, both from the Etnos association, Francesco Cappai from the Sinnai Folk Group, Noemie Podda from Muravera and Omar Fiore from Cagliari.

The conference will offer the public the opportunity to ask questions and satisfy curiosities about the traditions, habits and customs of the island. The event was presented in the council chamber of the Municipality of Porto Torres in the presence of the Councilor for Culture, Maria Bastiana Cocco. «The exhibition was scheduled for October 25th on the occasion of the celebration of the Holy Martyrs Turritani, but for a series of reasons it was moved to December, so as to inaugurate our calendar of Christmas holiday events», declared the representative of the council Mulas. «The positive thing is that it will take place at the Palazzo del Marchese, a structure that was handed over to us after the final redevelopment works».

«The exhibition includes the display of over 30 dresses in addition to the original pieces – explains Gabriella Ruggiu of Etnos – an important event that marks the collaboration between the associations and the constant growth of the initiative». The vice-president of Etnos, Sergio Carta reiterated the relevance of the exhibition and the recovery of traditions that the association intends to carry forward. "Siendi di Sasdhigna" will be embellished by the exhibition of the shots of the photographer Alessandra Garau, the result of her new project called Talea, and by the exhibition of the pictorial works curated by the TNT Global Art association.
