The splendid basilica of San Gavino will host, on Friday 29 March at 7 pm, the concert of the Polifonica Santa Cecilia, directed by maestro Alessio Manca, who will perform "The Seven Words of Our Lord Jesus Christ on the Cross", the prestigious work by Peter Laurels.

It is the second appointment in Porto Torres of the concert series "Musicando per la città", the event organized by the Musicando Insieme association, curated by the artistic director Donatella Parodi, which will offer concerts until June 21st in various Turrita locations.

At the center of the exhibition is the masterpiece of the Sardinian composer and priest Pietro Allori, a work that goes well with the rites of Holy Week. A composition with a strictly choral structure, for several voices, which is divided into seven pieces treated on the basis of the responsory: that is, a timbral contrast that takes place between the choir that opens and concludes each piece and the soloists, a small group always with four voices, which intersperses by performing the most significant part of the word.
