Porto Torres: 328 more members in the library and +22% loans

The initiatives and memberships at the Porto Torres municipal library are increasing.

During 2024, 328 new members were registered , an increase in loans of approximately 22 percent thanks also to the digital lending platform MLoL which allowed users to expand their reading possibilities.

A positive result that has allowed the Municipality of Porto Torres to obtain for the second time the recognition of "City that reads" for the three-year period 2024-2026 , assigned by the Center for books and reading. Thanks to the efficient service and the notable involvement of schools of all levels, which have been reached in a widespread manner thanks to the numerous initiatives aimed at them, some of which have seen the beloved bibliocycle go outside its walls to bring books and stories to students of all schools.

The prestigious title attests to the Municipality's commitment to public policies aimed at promoting reading , as a recognized and shared value, and will allow the administration to access specific ministerial calls for projects that pursue the goal of spreading and consolidating the practice of reading within the city community.

A year together to realize Lal - Legarsi alla lettura - has given its good results: an increase in both the number of members of the library, the loans and the people involved in the initiatives.
