Polls are open in Calabria for the second day of voting to elect the President of the Calabria Region and the Regional Council.
The challenge is between Roberto Occhiuto for the center-right, Pasquale Tridico for the center-left, and Francesco Toscano of Sovereign and Popular Democracy.
Voting will end at 3:00 PM, after which ballot counting will begin immediately at the 2,406 polling stations across the region. Approximately 1.9 million voters are eligible to vote in Calabria.
Voter turnout as of 11 p.m. last night was 29.08%. This is down from the previous figure in 2021, when 30.87% of eligible voters had cast their ballots at the same time.
The highest turnout at the moment is in Reggio Calabria with 32.24% (compared to 31.04% in the previous round), while in Catanzaro the turnout was 31.92% (down from 33.39% in the previous round in 2021).
