The regional directorate of museums in Sardinia buys up funding from the NRP for the energy efficiency of Sardinian cultural sites.
The rankings published by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage provide for 4.7 million euros to reduce energy consumption and costs in six museums on the island.
One and a half million is destined for the Sanna museum in Sassari; one million to the Garibaldi Compendium of Caprera; 700 thousand at the Sassari Art Gallery; 400 thousand at the Turritano Antiquarium in Porto Torres; another 400 thousand at the Asproni museum in Nuoro; 700 thousand to the Basilica of San Saturnino in Cagliari. To these funds must also be added 650 thousand euros for the Municipal Theater of Sassari.
"Energy efficiency is a fundamental issue above all in the green terms that the EU requires of us - says the director Luana Toniolo -. We will start from the basic interventions concerning the replacement of fixtures up to the installation of photovoltaic panels , which we plan to install in all our museums. At Asproni and Caprera, on the other hand, we will experiment with roofs made directly with photovoltaic tiles ".
The regional management of museums is also working on the removal of architectural barriers and on facilitated routes that make the places accessible to everyone, including the visually impaired.
And for a smart revolution : "At the Antiquarium of Porto Torres we plan a path of walkways, obviously respecting the archaeological context, and of signs that allow visitors to visit the site independently. The same goes for the Garibaldi Compendium. In this case, fruition with digital systems will be implemented in all museums, with the use of QR code, linked websites and Braille panels ". Another goal, the " digitization of all our finds and our information ".
