Not only is Sardinia grappling with booking difficulties and skyrocketing prices for plane seats during the Christmas period.

Sicily too has to deal with price increases, problems and inconveniences. To the point that the governor Renato Schifani has announced drastic measures.

"The scandal of the high price of flights that has hit Sicilians for some time must find an immediate and effective response," thundered Schifani. Adding: «The Sicily region will report the matter to the Antitrust , involving the best expert lawyers in the sector. But we also need more attention from the government and in particular from the Mef ».

«It is unacceptable - adds Schifani - that undermining citizens' right to mobility is a company with totally public capital like Ita, engaged in a cartel with Ryanair on the Palermo-Rome route as they are the only carriers to operate on that route. I therefore return to ask the government to make itself heard, and in particular to the Mef, to which we have also raised other urgent issues for some time on which we have not yet obtained answers ».
