Out of the classrooms and into history, among monuments, squares and green spaces: the municipality of Pirri becomes the beating heart of an innovative educational project, “Scuola in 4D”, which aims to unite tradition and technology. From now until March 2026, the territory is transformed into an open-air laboratory for young people from Cagliari and the metropolitan area, with a 200-hour program that enhances cultural heritage through immersive and participatory experiences.

The initiative, conceived by Imago Mundi and funded by the Complementary Operational Program Metropolitan Cities 2014-2020, offers four free training courses: Podcast, Visual Communication and Digital Storytelling, Cinema, and Theater and Technologies. The “four dimensions” of the project – individual, intergenerational, group, and community – aim to develop creative, technical, and relational skills, taking advantage of the rich cultural fabric of the municipality.

The first course, dedicated to Podcast, will start at the end of January and will be accessible upon reservation by January 24. To participate, just contact Imago Mundi at the indicated addresses (info@imagomundiodv.it; 346 6675074; 340 6254822).

For Massimiliano Messina, president of Imago Mundi, “Scuola in 4D represents «the culmination of a long educational journey that began with Monumenti Aperti, the project that brought entire generations closer to the historical and artistic heritage of Sardinia. But it is also a new beginning. The choice of Pirri is not accidental: this municipality, unique in its kind, is rich in history, art and traditions, and lends itself perfectly to acting as a bridge between the memory of the past and the needs of an increasingly digital world».

Messina emphasizes the ambition to create a replicable model of a cultural heritage school: "We believe that heritage is an extraordinary resource, capable of inspiring the future. Our goal is to transform students into active protagonists of a 'circular' educational experience, where young people and adults compare, exchange knowledge and build new meanings together. Doing so through theater, cinema and modern communication techniques seems to us the best way to combine tradition and innovation."
