Almost a year after his death, the city pays homage to Pino d'Olbia, aka Giuseppe Fadda, a singer who became famous for the notes and verses signed by maestro Astro Mari, which projected him into the elite of Italian discography in the 60s and towards a long career on the island and around the world.

Very young, he was noted for his vocal talents and, thanks to Maestro Mari, signed by CGD. "Ajò, Ajò" and "Welcome to Costa Smeralda", among the greatest successes, but Pino d'Olbia was also an appreciated author of traditional music; in 1988 he published eight unreleased songs, arranged by Giovanni and Giantore Budroni with the collaboration of Mauro Fiorentino on percussion.

At the "Olbia per Pino" event, a tribute evening organized by the Mario Cervo Archive in collaboration with the culture department - today at the Archaeological Museum - many musicians will remember the artist: from the Isola Group, his latest formation, in Tore Nieddu, Paoluccio Masala with Mirko Putzu and Giacomo Gabriele Deiana, Giovanni and Giantore Budroni with Mauro Fiorentino, Fronte del Porto, Lorena Pinna, Terzo Tempo, Angelo Bonomo and Michele Buono, Mauro Mibelli and Nicole Ruzittu, Franca Pinna, Gianfranco Salis, Simon and Sere.

The idea is to support the "old" generation with young musicians from Olbia who, for the occasion, will propose the repertoire of Pino d'Olbia, rearranged and reinterpreted in a modern key. The evening, starting at 7pm, is presented by Tommy Rossi.
