New record creation for Maurizio Lampis . The famous Sardinian “brick builder” has reproduced the Piazza San Marco in Venice with 170,000 Lego bricks as part of the eight-month “El Paron de Casa” project, which sees Veneto and Sardinia twinned.

"From today the search for institutional partners , supporters and sponsors begins - highlights Vittorio Baroni, coordinator of the project - with the aim of exhibiting the work of Maurizio Lampis in Venice . We want to make it known above all to school children because the constructive method of Lego bricks develops ingenuity and ability and expresses pedagogical, educational and psychological value ".

"Piazza San Marco represents one of the symbolic places of Italian beauty and after having built the Trevi Fountain - says Lampis - I wanted to give continuity with an important and prestigious diorama as the representation of a glimpse of Venice".

"The work - says Lampis - began on January 8 and therefore required 8 months and 170,000 Lego bricks to complete. I started building the Procuratie first, then the square and in sequence the Campanile di San Marco. and finally the Basilica ".

"I expect a lot from this work - concludes Lampis - both for the importance of a symbolic city like Venice in the world and for the effort behind a diorama 270 cm long x 105 wide x 140 cm wide. height. My dream is to take it to Venice and show it to everyone ".
