Two key events in two enchanting settings for the 26th edition of Musica sulle Bocche , the international festival directed by Enzo Favata . On Monday, August 17th, at 7:00 PM, in the setting of Cala Reale on the island of Asinara, Danilo Rea will perform a solo piano concert that will provide the soundtrack to the sunset.
An event that fully encapsulates the spirit of the festival, which has always strived to create a dialogue between music, landscape, and nature, selecting locations of extraordinary beauty and the time of day as an integral part of the artistic experience. No set schedule, no fixed route. The concert will be guided by the inspiration of the moment, the location, the audience, and that ability to improvise that has made Rea one of the most recognizable and appreciated pianists in Italian jazz.
On Tuesday, August 18th, at 6:00 PM, Argentiera's Spiaggia Grande becomes the stage for Valérie Ékoumè and her La Danse de l'Éléphant . This time, the mining landscape of Argentiera and the sea of Sardinia's northwest coast meet a music that's physical, radiant, and deeply rooted. Valérie Ékoumè's music is a blend of Afropop, rock, and traditional Cameroonian rhythms that seamlessly coexist, creating a concert that invites both listening and movement.
La Danse de l'Éléphant is the project with which the Franco-Cameroonian singer is conquering an ever-growing audience. Critically acclaimed, the tour has spanned continents and cultures, including appearances at the Les Nuits d'Afrique Festival during a 16-date Canadian tour in 2024, the Afrika Festival in Würzburg, Africa Oyé in Liverpool, Visa For Music in Morocco, the Esplanade in Singapore, and the Festival d'Été de Québec.
Supporting this research is the long-standing artistic partnership with Guy Nwogang , an internationally renowned drummer and percussionist, producer and creator of the rhythmic identity of his works.
