Sardinia at the top of the ranking of Italian regions for energy production from photovoltaic systems .

According to the data released by the Italia Solare association on the basis of numbers made available periodically by Terna (Gaudì data), in 2022 the island generated a "power" of 103 Mw, placing itself in third place in the ranking behind Lombardy ( 157 Mw) and Lazio (147 Mw).

The top ten of the photovoltaic cities instead sees Viterbo on the podium with the largest amount of new photovoltaic power installed in these first six months with almost 104 new Mw, followed by Cagliari (85.16 Mw) and Brescia (37.32 Mw).

NATIONAL DATA - Overall, at national level, the trend in the spread of photovoltaic systems is improving: in the first half of 2022, 1,012 new Megawatts were installed - more than double compared to the same period of 2021 (406 Mw) - bringing the cumulative power overall to 23,577 Mw and a number of plants equal to 1,087,190.

NET DELAY - Again on a national level, Italia Solare notes that the trend is also positive for storage systems, given that a third more was installed from January to June compared to the whole of 2021, however, overall "a net delay with respect to development forecasts in line with Italy's objectives ".

2021 - "We are still a long way from 2011 when 9,461 Mw had been installed in 12 months", recalls the association dedicated to photovoltaics, indicating that in Italy, the residential sector has installed 5,486 Mw, the commercial and industrial sector 12,921 Mw thus representing the greatest installed power, while the utility scale sector counts on 5,170 Mw.
