«Price lists are out of control, increasing day by day – underlines the vice-president of Assoutenti Gabriele Melluso -. The sharp rise in oil prices is associated with a shortage of supplies which could create further market distortions. For this reason we loudly reiterate the need for immediate intervention by the Government , which can no longer procrastinate and must work on taxation, immediately reducing the excise duties on petrol and diesel by exploiting the extra VAT revenue on fuels".
Giorgio Vargiu of Adiconsum Sardegna speaks of an "unsustainable" situation which will have "a domino effect with consequences also on the price lists of products transported by road".
«The hypothesis of a petrol bonus for less well-off families being studied by the Government is the usual spot measure that does not solve the problem, a palliative which, as past experience teaches, will not bring benefits to the community. This is why we invite the Government to address the issue of taxation", concludes Vargiu.
