Spanoulis' Peristeri makes no concessions, and punishes a Dinamo Sassari in full emergency also in the second act of the "Miners Cup", a double friendly match played at the Palasport in Carbonia.

After the -23 gained on Friday, the Greeks have an almost identical gap to the Sassari team (-22, 91-69), who after Bendzius (and his replacement, the American McKinney), Tyree, Charalampopoulos and Diop also had to give up Raspino , kept rested as a precaution by coach Bucchi after some physical ailment.

Despite the wide gap that developed at the final siren, the Bank can still be satisfied with the performance offered for at least 30 minutes, with the courage and defensive application that allowed it to keep an opponent already in championship form at bay.

The race. Bucchi asks the biancoblù to stay in the game for as long as possible, considering the absolutely emergency conditions. And the "Giants" actually applied themselves with good attitude at the start, placing a first break at 11-4 with Kruslin's triple. Hands tries to shorten the lead, but the island's quintet holds firm and deservedly closes ahead in the 10th minute at 15-11.

In the second period the Greeks significantly increased their percentages from the arc and took the first advantage with Poulianitis (17-16). Sassari does not give up and pushes up to +9 with the bomb created by Treier (35-26). Then the match gets nasty: Kruslin is penalized with an unsportsmanlike foul for an intervention on Thompson, who carries Peristeri on his shoulders and inaugurates a 7-0 run. At halftime, therefore, the guests are ahead 42-41.

Upon returning to the pitch, Spanoulis orders his team to tighten a couple of defensive screws. Dinamo struggled to find the way to the basket and had to deal with Gombauld, who was on the pitch with 4 fouls. Despite everything, Gentile and his teammates held their own (59-56 Peristeri in the 30th minute), but ran out of fuel at the start of the last quarter. Peristeri then took advantage of the situation to go on the run with two consecutive bombs from Williams (MVP of the match with 25 points) and Hands' basket which definitively broke the balance. In the final Bucchi raises the white flag, preserving the big names and sending the very young Piredda, Carta and Pisano (positive, with 9 personal scores on the scoresheet) onto the parquet. The gap, therefore, progressively widened until 91-69.

Dinamo now shifts its focus to the championship: next Sunday, in Sassari, the debut against Napoli is scheduled, and the staff hopes to have at least Diop back available, in addition to the new signing McKinney, expected in Sardinia next week.
