Fifteen finalist performers, from the USA, Great Britain, Spain, New Zealand and Venezuela, as well as from the island and the peninsula. Last year they all attended the S'Ala space as an artistic residency. The winner will not be the best, but "the one who with his performance was most capable of connecting to the public, of creating community" explains Moreno Solinas, artistic director of the Sassari space. It is the unique peculiarity of the S'Empatia International Award for Performing Arts which will be awarded on Saturday at 21.
The recognition is dedicated to the memory of Carlo Solinas, entrepreneur and patron, former president of the Teatro Verdi in Sassari, tireless promoter of art forms and artists.
His son Moreno and the other operators of the center for artistic residencies, experimentation and training have decided to create an award that combines sympathy and empathy, curiosity and listening skills, professionalism and lightness.
