The increases for the minimum pensions envisaged by the Maneuver go from July . An audience of 1.3 million pensioners are interested.
After seven months of waiting, the law passed by the government, which was supposed to start from January 2023, will come into force. In addition to the adjustment of the check, the recipients will therefore receive the arrears for the months ranging from January to June 2023 .
INPS treatments will undergo a 1.5% increase for the entire current year and for all pensioners to whom it is attributed, except for the over 75s who are entitled to a 6.4% increase.
Retirees who are under 75 and receive a pension of 563.74 euros, the current minimum, will therefore be entitled to an increase of 8.46 euros per month, reaching 572.2 euros. For those aged 75 and over, however, the increase will be 36.08 euros per month, with the check rising from 563.74 to 599.32 euros.
Starting from 2024, on the other hand, the increase will be 2.7% for everyone. Although the Government is thinking about the possibility of providing for a more substantial increase for the over 75s which would bring the minimum pensions to around 700 euros per month.
The increase in minimum pensions is a workhorse of the centre-right and is an issue on which Silvio Berlusconi's electoral campaign has focused, which he had indicated as a legislature objective to raise the minimum amounts to one thousand euros. An objective that would however have enormous costs for the State. The mere increase in the minimums starting from July will present an "account" of about 5 billion more a year .
