His surname is Bagnaia but "Pecco", as everyone knows him by now, has roots in Sardinia. The Moto GP world champion is the son of Stefania Atzori, and his grandfather Fausto, born in 1939, is from Terralba.

And it is precisely the grandfather who, speaking to Videolina, tells us that "he was born on a motorcycle, in a certain respect". Having emigrated when he was very young, he has always had a passion for two wheels since his father, when Fausto was born, already had a German motorbike, "the only one that was around". And Francesco Bagnaia must have inherited this love in his DNA: «I built him a tricycle – recalls his grandfather Fausto – with the engine of a fifty when he was three and a half years old», a year later he already knew how to use the clutch and change gears.

Since then the road has been very full of successes, until last Sunday when in Valencia “Pecco” took home the world champion title for the second time.
