One month and ten days after the deadline chosen by Rome, nothing is known about the Sardinian congress of the Democratic Party.

Enrico Borghi, the ad acta commissioner appointed by the national secretary Enrico Letta to manage the route up to the primary to be held no later than 28 February, has yet to define all the stages. And now, given the resurgence of infections but also the vote for the election of the Head of State, there is a real risk of a new postponement.

The Sardinian demos had not already respected the two windows established by the national secretariat for the celebration of the provincial and regional congresses: a first from 30 June to 31 July, a second from 1 September to 7 December with primaries set for 13 but skipped for the failure to present candidates by the deadline.

Borghi's appointment dates back to 26 November. The deputy (current reformist base) and member of Copasir had been in Sardinia before Christmas for a first round of consultations with the current regional secretary Emanuele Cani and the provincial secretaries, with the regional councilors and with the parliamentarians. He had spoken of "a very prepared and aware management team". A group that in recent months had not managed to identify the unitary candidate they were looking for: the currents never came to an agreement and in the end Letta had sent Borghi to close the game once and for all.

Now, also considering the epidemiological emergency that would prevent the setting up of seats in closed clubs, the hypothesis of a further postponement is likely.
